Research and implementation of underwater acoustic real-time voice communication prototype based on MELP

Abstract:Taking the complexity of the underwater acoustic communication channel characteristics into account, the combination of mixed excited linear prediction(MELP) and low density parity check(LDPC) were studied and a multi-carrier underwater acoustic real-time voice communication prototype based on ARM+DSP was designed. By the expreimental test in pool, the proposed system showed a good real-time and voice intelligibility performance, and could distinguish the voice of different speakers.

A new design of the 3D human modeling system

Abstract:A new design of the 3D human modeling & identification system is presented in this paper. Two TI TMS320C64x+digital signal processors are used as the algorithm unit and a S3C6410 embedded processor is used to control the timing sequence and the operation bus. Without any bone sensor networks for the human body, the 3D human modeling can be realized only through the optical cameras and the image processing algorithms. In addition, the traces of multiple real-time human targets can also be pursued in this system. The results of the real-time 3D human modeling experiments are also presented in this paper, which shows a good performance.

Variable frequency SPWM generator for air-bag

Abstract:In order to drive the piezoelectric-transformer inverter in airbag, a frequency-adjustable SPWM generator based on FPGA is designed in this paper. The article presents the principle design, the overall framework and the implementation and simulation results. The simulation results show that the design of the SPWM pulse-signal generator is a good solution to driving the piezoelectric-transformer inverter which has variable working frequency and also is difficult to drive.

Hydraulic control system of astronomical telescope based on DSP

Abstract:The astronomical telescope is supported by a kind of hydraulic system, which should ensure the oil pressure to be stable. In order to achieve this aim, a hydraulic fuzzy control system based on DSP is introduced in this paper. This system adopts TMS320F2812 DSP as the microprocessor, which can master the operating mode of the motor to control the oil pressure. The PWM frequency modulation is used to control the rotate speed of the motor according to the deviation between the practical oil pressure and the expected one which is processed by the fuzzy controller. The result shows that this system can make the oil pressure stable without being influenced by the surrounding’s disturbance.

Research on vehicle accident calling system based on dual-network integration

Abstract:Vehicle accident calling system is built based on the integrated communication of GPRS/CDMA and Internet. This system uses on-board sensors to acquire the vehicle collision state data, and estimates driver injury severity by means of ordered Probit model. All information including estimated driver injury severity, whether the rollover accident happened, driver-vehicle basic information and GPS data of accident is transmitted to the accident calling service center. The accident calling service center can not only determine the accident orientation by starting the Google Earth automatically,but also activate the video-audio communication in the accident vehicle, which is conducive to enhance the understanding of the accident scene and improve the efficiency of the accident rescue.

Software-hardware testbed design for baseband OFDM system based on FPGA

Abstract:In order to simulate the software implementation and verify the hardware implementation of a baseband OFDM system, an FPGA-based software/hardware co-verification scheme is proposed. The system is divided into two partitions implemented by software and hardware, respectively. UDP is used for data transmission between these two partitions, and hence makes a complete baseband system. With the proposed testbed, the software simulation is running over real wireless channels, and the hardware implemental results can be flexibly processed in real time. Therefore, the testbed provides a uniform environment for the design process of the baseband OFDM system from algorithm to implementation, and enhance the design efficiency.

Multi-axis motion control system based on DSP and FPGA

Abstract:Traditional motion controllers for robots make use of PC and motion control board, which cost much. This article presents a generic motion control system,which saves cost. DPRAM implemented in FPGA is used to transmit data between DSP and upper computer. FPGA also converts data from serial to parallel and simplify the routing of board. The algorithm of curve interpolation and inverse kinematics is simulated on DSP. The result shows that this system works properly and the speed of each axis changes smoothly.

Design of a nanoampere CMOS current reference

Abstract:A novel nanoampere current reference source without resistance is designed and analysised which owns small temperature coefficient and is hardly dependent on supply voltage. Based on TSMC 0.18 μm CMOS process, the spectre simulation shows that the current reference has a temperature coefficient of 24.33 ppm/℃, a supply variation rate of 0.028 9%/V and a highest PSRR of -85 dB with a 46 nA output current. The total current consumption is less than 200 nA.

Abstract:This paper presents the hardware process manager design of a multithread thin-core processor. The process manager has an in-built event manager to monitor the arrival of triggering events for waiting threads. Thread scheduling is done in hardware. The process manager consist of ALU, memory system and built-in router,to form a complete processing element in a parallel thin-core computer.

Abstract:This paper introduces a kind of coherent demodulation algorithm for a new modulation mode 16APSK. The working flow,structures of digital receiver based on FPGA and the implement results are given. The experiment results show that this digital receiver takes the demodulation performance and implementation complexity into consideration, which concludes to practical value.

High frequency phase-shifting signal generating circuit based on ECL logic device

Abstract:This paper proposed a high frequency phase-shifting signal generating circuit based on programmable ECL logic device, the phase-shifting principle is on the basis of pulse inhibition. The experimental test shows that this high frequency phase-shifting signal generating circuit has high stability. For example, for the case of 2π/32 phase-shifting on the 20 MHz signal, the Allan standard variance is smaller than 10-9 for the integration time from 1 s to 10 000 s. Furthermore, this electronic has the advantages of simple electronic design principle, replicability, small size, low cost etc.

Dual channel CCD digital camera circuit design based on AD9978A

Abstract:A set of CCD monochrome camera circuit is designed based on ADI Company′s dual channel,14 bit HD image signal processor with precision timing core AD9978A. The system adopts the Dalsa Company’s 1 024×1 024 frame transfer array CCD FTT1010M as the image sensor and a special integrated chip DPP2010A as the PPG,and applies FPGA as the core of the system controller and the LVDS interface to complete the image output. According to the problem of nonuniformity between each channel after the transmission of the CCD dual channel output, the circuit is improved by using AD9978A. And the complex register allocation of this chip has been studied. After verification, the image performs good uniformity with the system in the case of none adding algorithm of nonuniformity correction.

A capacitor-reused cyclic ADC for high-speed CMOS image sensor

Abstract:In this paper, a column parallel RSD cyclic ADC using capacitor-reused technique for CMOS image sensor is presented. With the capacitor-reused technique, the ADC samples and converts the signal simultaneously in each cycle of the conversion, and thus its conversion speed is twice that of the conventional cyclic ADC. In the proposed ADC, an amplifier and four groups of capacitors are used to complete the CDS and the accurate multiply-by-two operation, which results in great reduction in the area of capacitors. The presented ADC is designed and simulated in 0.18 μm CMOS process using SPICE. The simulation results show that at a supply voltage of 1.8 V and a conversion rate of 4 MS/s, the designed ADC can achieve a SNDR of 55.61 dB and its power consumption is 1.34 mW.The ADC can satisfy 10 bit accuracy requirement of high-speed CMOS image sensor′s application.

Design of high-speed non-oscillator PLL

Abstract:This paper studies the non-oscillator PPL structure,which can speedly lock the requiring frequency and is validated according the analog and digital module. The analog module is similar with classical architecture and the digital tracking frequency divider module searches system signal using unprecise initial clock of PLL, according the reference clock to adjust the output clock of the PLL. This structure can lock clock of PLL just using one host signal.

Research on the performance of high-power lithium-ion battery used in electric vehicle

Abstract:To research the performance of high-power lithium-ion battery,the experiments of the charge-discharge characteristics of 35 Ah high-power lithium-ion battery were carried out and analyzed,and the battery’s characteristics of charge-discharge, internal resistance and temperature were given. The result shows the internal resistance is increased and the charge-discharge performance is decreased in the low temperature; the battery has the small internal resistance, the ability to charge and discharge by the high current and high specific energy at normal temperature. This kind of battery has a good application prospect in EVS.

The failure mode and analysis of power MOSFET in switching power supply

Abstract:The failure mode mechanism and reasons of over current and over voltage of power MOSFET are presented with the photos of their respective failure forms. The difference of power MOSFET failure at turn on and turn off are also discussed, which provides the guideline for the failure at turn on and turn off. The test circuits of over current and over voltage are also given. The failure principle of power MOSFET operating at the linear zone for a relatively long time for turn on during system burin in test and turn off in battery protection circuit are discussed with the failure photos. In the end, the combination failure modes of the over current and over voltage in real application are discussed.

Control of Forward converter by state feedback linearization

Abstract:In order to improve the control performance of the Forward converter, exact linearization design approach is proposed to apply to converter control. Firstly, the affine nonlinear system models for differential geometry methods are established with the switching function and average switch period operator. Then, the models are proved in theory to meet conditions for exact linearization. For the linear system of nonlinear coordinate transformation, quadratic optimal control strategy is used. The nonlinear state feedback control laws are deduced. The corresponding experiment results show that the system has good static and dynamic performance, and the effectiveness and correctness of the control method are verified.

Three-phase dual buck grid-connected inverter based on sliding mode control

Abstract:To obtain the good robustness, sliding mode control of the three-phase dual buck grid-connected inverter is studied. Firstly, the control system can be designed based on the equivalent analysis circuit. Then, its sliding mode control is designed based on the equivalent analysis circuit. And the sign function of control rate is replaced by the smooth function to weaken the chattering. Simulation results show that the inverter used sliding mode control show good dynamic and static performance. And the output current of the inverter is high quality and the harmonic content is low.

Laser gyroscope signal demodulate system based on FPGA

Abstract:Taking advantage of the high paralleling and dedicate controlling of the time of FPGA,we designed a high speed and high accuracy system to demodulate gyro signal. This system use the FPGA of XILINX company as the core hardware, through the subtly program design, we completely realized the high accurate phase demodulation、counting and high speed filtering of the gyro signal, meanwhile the system controls lateral DSP to compute and communicate with PC. After testing experiment on the domestic laser gyro using our system, the result shows that this system has a much better performance of 10 S and 100 S on gyro rotational speed variance.

Multi-channel high-speed data acquisition system based on fiber optic transmission

Abstract:In this paper,research the high speed data acquisition and transmission system of 8-channel. By using Time Devision multiplex,the data of 8 channels is transmit through 3 fiber tunnels. This design can solves the problem of high-speed data transmission of multichannel.Using FPGA as the master chip,TLK1501 as serial/parallel conversion and 8 B/10 B encoder chip. When sample rate of A/D is 20 MHz,the all data transmission rate of the system is 1 920 Mb/s. By using Verilog language programming, data collection and transmission functions is achieved.The scheme has a advantages of feasibility,simpleand and low-cost.

Dynamic characteristic test-system for intelligent AC contactor based on LabVIEW

Abstract:A synchronous test-system is developed for intelligent AC contactor. A conditioning circuit is developed to make the high voltage input signal compatible with the low voltage signals from the sensors. The test-system can acquire each signal accurately and the system is able to make signals be synchronous. Thus the test-system can reveal real-time dynamic characteristics of the intelligent AC contactor.

The multi-sensor Internet of Things wireless monitor system based on ZigBee

Abstract:According to the application of WSN in Internet of Things wireless monitor, The system based ZigBee to build tree wireless network, designed modular wireless node hardware use SoC chip CC2530 as core unit, integrated multi-sensor module include temperature and humidity and vibration quantity etc, based on Z-stack designed multi-sensor finite-state machine software and low power consumption node software, and improved the link failure management mechanism of stack. With the large experiment data, proving that the typical transmission rate of single hop is 20 kb/s, the typical transmission rate of multi-hop is 0.3kb/s, and the system has strong expansibility, could well satisfy application of the internet of things such as intelligent household and security monitoring。

The shunt converter of UPQC signal detection based on fuzzy control

Abstract:Focus on the study of shunt converter of unified power quality controller for three-phase four-line system, the dq0-Fuzzy signal detection algorithm is established with real-time feedback control to achieve the compensated currents. The fuzzy controller is introduced in UPQC circuit is used as a detector of the reactive and harmonic current, instead of the traditional PID regulator, this detection algorithm is simple and has high detection accuracy. Through computer simulations and analyses the experiment results to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of this algorithm.

Design of detection system for residual voltage based on FPGA

Abstract:This article proposes a high accuracy, low power consumption residual voltage detection method. The measuring device by the zero-crossing detection circuit to obtain the power frequency synchronization signal, at the power frequency AC peak moment to cut off the test device′s power. System through the high input impedance input circuit to sampling the measured device ′s residual voltage. Under the control of the NIOSII system by using high speed sampling /hold-circuit and high precision ADC to realize equipment power-down after the 1 seconds and 10 seconds on-line detection of residual voltage. By the experimental proof of the measuring device has good stability, measurement accuracy up to 0.506%, which meets measurement requirements.

Implementation of timing synchronization based on convolution for OFDM system

Abstract:This paper proposes an improved timing synchronization method for a Gb/s OFDM trial system. It is based on the convolution and correlation calculation and has fast detection rate and high synchronization performance. The proposed algorithm is implemented on a virtex-5 FPGA of Xilinx and the hardware resource consumption is lower than 20% of the total resource. Finally, the implementation scheme is applied to a real-time system and verified in this platform. In the indoor wireless environment and situation of abnormal amplitude of the received signal, the scheme can work as normal.

Bluetooth indoor positioning based on fingerprinting technology

Abstract:Aiming to the serious demands of the indoor location service, a precise Bluetooth positioning system with an advanced fingerprinting technology is presented. The system uses Bluetooth devices as the platform, establishes signal sample database by getting the received signal strength of Bluetooth wireless link parameters, uses the K-order neighbor method to realize the positioning of the equipments at online positioning stage. We add a wavelet de-noising process into the traditional fingerprint positioning technology at online stage to reduce noise and improve positioning accuracy. For a typical office scene, the average positioning accuracy of Bluetooth devices reaches 0.2 m.

Optimization of designing direction-finding array structure over wideband based on improved particle swarm optimization algorithm

Abstract:The dirction-finding’s ambiguity is analyzed in the paper, and a design method of unambiguity direction-finding array structure over wideband is present. The method, based on improved particle swarm optimization algorithm, to optimazation the antenna’s position to has beetter direction-finding performance under the unambiguity direction-finding and minimum distances between antennas. Experiments show that the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm enhances the search efficieency. The array, which is designed by improved particle swarm optimization algorithm, has better direction-finding performance in the wideband. The minimum distance antennas breaks away from the restriction that the minimum diatance less than half wavelength. In the end, the array, which is designed in the paper, and uniform linear array’s direction-finding performance is compared by simulation results, the former’s superiority is confirmed by experiment.

Channel estimation in MIMO-OFDM systems based on superimposed training

Abstract:In order to improve the transmission performance of wireless channels, the improved training sequence based channel estimation algorithm in MIMO-OFDM system was proposed. Using irrelevance of the training sequence and information sequence, the channel parameters was estimated. Even in the presence of channel mismatch errors and channel quantization error, quantitative feedback channel estimation training sequence can improve the performance of the system. 10-bit quantizer can fulfill the general performance requirements. And then the design of the optimal pilot sequence using the channel to maximize the mutual information was discussed.

Abstract:In the high speed data transmission system, a high speed dissymmetrical point to point communication port and protocol between IEEE802.3 GENIC(Gigabit Ethernet Network Interface Card) and SDRAM are designed, while the port’s speed should not below 1 Gb/s. Port’s electrical connection are based on LVDS(Low Voltage Differential signaling), and five LVDS pairs are used in one direction, while one clock and four data. Double-edge sampling and source-synchronize are also used. Based on STOP-WAIT ARQ protocol, command and acknowledgment mechanism is used. Mode 256 checkout is used to guarantee the reliable data transmission. Analysis shows that the port’s bandwidth is 1.2 Gb/s, and the efficiency of protocol is above 99%. Finally, the protocol works steadily and trustily in system. When the GENIC receive and transmit data at fully speed, the port’s bandwidth remain nonzero.

Improved design of a dual-stack rhombic antenna

Abstract:Based on the analysis of the structure and working principle of Rhombic antenna, a dual-stack rhombic antenna which operates at the center frequency 2.4 GHz with reflector is presented to reduce the size and increase the directivity and gain characteristics in this paper. Visual Basic software is used to design an interactive antenna calculator, facilitates the calculation and optimization of antenna size parameter. 4NEC software is used to construct, simulate and optimize the antenna model. The antenna is tested by the PNA3621 vector network meter. Simulation and measurement results show that: the antenna has good performance in 2.35 GHz~2.45 GHz frequency range, which agrees well with the simulated results, and the measured voltage standing wave ratio and the echo loss of the antenna are relatively ideal.

Research and implementation of carrier synchronization based on FPGA in burst-mode DSSS system

Abstract:A scheme is proposed to achieved carrier synchronization based on sweeping frequency, FFT frequency estimation and digital PLL,in order to solve the problem of carrier acquisition and tracking of spread spectrum signals under large frequency offset circumstance in short-term burst-mode DSSS system. The scheme is successfully simulated by MATLAB and validated with SignalTap tools based on FPGA hardware platform. The results show that the scheme can meet the system design which smoothly achieves carrier acquisition and tracking of spread spectrum signals.

Design of two-wheeled self-balanced tracking robot based on MCF52255

Abstract:Designed a kind of the robot’s system based on MCF52255, which is a high-performance microprocessor. The robot system contains the hardware solutions and software solutions. To achieve the data fusion of the accelerometer signal and the gyroscope signal, we used the Kalman filter method. The experimental results showed that the robot can be stably achieve self-balance and automatic tracking function.

Algorithm research for lane departure recognition using machine vision

Abstract:Firstly, the target area is determined for the lane departure detection. Secondly, the system uses digital image processing technologies and multiple algorithms processing. Finally, it adapts the calculated angle between the left and right lane as the standard to judge the vehicle whether or not deviated from the lane. The experimental results show that the design presented in this paper is stable and with good application value.

An electrocardiogram classification approach based on wavelet transform and probabilistic neural network

Abstract:An effective electrocardiogram(ECG) classification approach based on wavelet de-noising and probabilistic neural network is proposed. Firstly the ECG signal is taken six scaling wavelet decomposition.The coefficient of the scales, which contain main noise, are set to zero, inverse the wavelet transform. The mathematical morphology is used to find the positions of P,Q,R,S and T wave, then the 12 feature values are taken as the input of probability neural network to realize the six classification of ECG.

An algorithm of color image segmentation for PCB detection

Abstract:According to the problem of optical detection printed circuit board (PCB) to need image segmentation, a kind of combination clustering algorithm and watershed algorithm in PCB color image segmentation algorithm is put forward, namely the PCB color image is clustered, divided into different color area, and the different area is segmented by watershed segmentation algorithm. At last, the cut-off rule transparent is added to the original image, segmentation completed. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm can split PCB color image, and segmentation effect is good.

Design and implementation of robot with sound localization system

Abstract:A simple sound localization system is developed, based on TDOA(Time Delay On Arrival) algorithm using DSP and microphone array, which is composed by 7 microphones. LabVIEW robot is used here, on which the sound localization system is placed, with an IP camera to capture the image of the sound location. Tests show that the sound localization system locates well under simple environment and the robot works fine even in complicated situation. This paper discusses implementation of functionalities of the robot, the theory and algorithm of the sound localization system.

Design of spherical motor controller based on Matlab platform

Abstract:For the control method of DC permanent magnet spherical motor,the vector control method of DC permanent magnet spherical motor based on the Lorentz Force is proposed. Spherical motor algorithms.is realized on the platform of Matlab,and this algorithm has been verified. The design of the spherical motor controller host computer program is depended on Matlab and hardware part of the controller is designed based on the DSP2407 controller. The experimental results shows the performance of the spherical motor controlle.It makes the Lorentz Force vector control method come true.

Design and implementation of FastICA algorithm IP core for blind signal processing

Abstract:Considering the poor performance of FastICA algorithm which is widely used in blind signal processing, this paper puts forward a novel way that uses FPGA to carry out FastICA algorithm and increases its speed in large scale. In order to imbed FastICA algorithm in SOPC and ASIC designs easily, FastICA IP core is as well as designed based on AVALON bus. The test results show that FastICA IP core completes blind signal separation and its speed is 20 times faster than person computer. This speed can meet the requirement of high-speed blind signal processing.
